The Historical Museum of South Padre Island brings the island’s history to life. Discover prehistoric creatures, indigenous cultures, legendary shipwrecks, ranching traditions, smugglers’ tales, and the rise of tourism that shaped this coastal gem.

Current Status

The future home of the museum is already taking shape at 610 Padre Boulevard, inside the former South Padre Island Visitor’s Center. With three dynamic galleries, rotating exhibits, and a dedicated event space, this 5,000-square-foot museum will be a must-visit destination.
